Northamptonshire ACRE's Village Survey

Northamptonshire ACRE is in the process of updating our village survey, which was last carried out in 2011. The survey asks a range of questions about life in a rural community with the aim of establishing local evidence of how those communities are faring. The survey will assist the charity to identify what services and support parishes and rural communities offer residents in comparison to 10 years ago, highlight any issues or needs that exist and see what impact COVID-19 has had on the village or town life over the last year.

Elaine O’Leary, Chief Executive of Northamptonshire ACRE said “The previous survey carried out by the charity helped to build up a detailed picture of life in our villages ten years ago. It showed many communities as vibrant and neighbourly places but worried about loss of services, potential development and transport. It will be interesting to see to what extent things have changed over the last ten years and what sort of impact the pandemic has had.”

The survey has been kept as brief and easy to use as possible and should take no more than spare 15 minutes to complete. We would urge all parishes and communities with a population of 10,000 or fewer to complete the survey and help to build up the picture of rural life in Northamptonshire today.

The survey will be closed on Monday 12 July 2021.
